National Congress of American Indian (NCAI)

We are a voting member tribe of the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) as a state-recognized tribe under court-of-claims. The NCAI, founded in 1944, is the oldest, largest and most representative American Indian and Alaska Native organization serviing the broad interests of tribal governments and communities.

As members of NCAI, we proudly observe their Mission to:

◈ Protect and enhance treaty and sovereign rights.

◈ Secure our traditional laws, cultures, and ways of life for our descendants.

◈ Promote a common understanding of the rightful place of tribes in the family of American governments.

◈ Improve the quality of life for Native communities and peoples.

Alliance of Colonial Era Tribes (ACET)

We are a member of the Alliance of Colonial Era Tribes (ACET). ACET is an intertribal league of sovereign America Indian Nations continuing from the colonial era of the eastern and southern seaboard of the continental United States.

ACET tribes share a commmon history of colonial and federal governmental contact, including:

◈ Members have existed from colonial times.

◈ Members have interacted with colonial governments.

◈ Members were sovereign indigenous entities during the colonial period.

◈ Members document federal contact prior to 1960.
